Greene County district court, week ending Jan. 14

In Greene County district court Tyrae Jamel Manns, 23, of Ames was sentenced Jan. 4 to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of theft- third degree. The prison term is concurrent to sentences in three Story County cases. Manns was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; both were suspended. He must pay $720.60 victim restitution and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)

Anthony Donald Davis, 32, of Scranton was sentenced Jan. 10 to 60 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of eluding. All but two days of the jail time was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. He must pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees not to exceed $600 and $100 court costs. A charge in magistrate court of interference with official acts was dismissed, with a judgment entered for $60 court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: David A. Tibben, 36, of Scranton, theft- fourth degree; and Robert Alan Fry, 58, of Jefferson, gambling, false claim of winning. Trial dates were set for March 1 in both cases.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Rick Eugene Tuhn, 60, of Grand Junction, driving while license barred; and Jessie James Sanders, 19, of Churdan, driving while license barred.
